I attended Paul mitchell the school both in Jacksonville Florida as well as in San Diego. After getting my license in California in 2010 I started working at Salon Ink. I worked there for just under 6 years before deciding to go out on my own and work at Salon Santo Tomas. Being outside traveling and music are huge inspirations for me and keep me motivated. Some of my specialties are cutting short hair and any cuts that are above the shoulder, I also enjoy blonding and any kind of foiling with color. My favorite quote is “success unshared is failure”- John Paul Dejoria.

Megan Schmidt

Stylist

Growing up in a small town outside Sacramento, it was always a childhood dream of my sister and mine to move to San Diego and be roommates. In 2011, that dream became a reality when I got the opportunity to work alongside two platform artists; Abe Barron and Melissa Jaqua. By helping them open their salon in Point Loma, I became their sidekick. We traveled to Germany to teach hair classes and styled for X-Factor and So You Think You Can Dance photoshoots. With events like those and the Las Vegas Hair Show and pre-Emmy parties, I have a lot of experience with celebrity styles along with colors and cuts. I love keeping up with the latest trends by continuously learning and furthering my education.

Jeanna Allegoren

Although she loves the beaches and sunshine of Southern California, Jeanna traces her down-to-earth roots back to her NorCal country upbringing, where she got an early start on her career by trimming the hair on her Barbie collection. When she’s not creating and updating hairstyles, Jeanna relaxes by experimenting in the kitchen, exploring local eateries for new culinary creations, curling up with a good book, or simply relaxing with her quirky and adorable kitten Gus.

Maddy Parkin

Salon Coordinator

I have been around hair and the beauty industry for my entire life. My grandmother owned a salon, taught my Mom how to do hair, and now my mom owns a salon so we’re 3 generations of hair stylists. I am extremely excited to be able to do this apprenticeship to learn more about the trade I’m so interested in, and also be able to enhance people’s lives and self esteem at the same time

Lee Evans

Stylist

Lee Evans has been working in the industry for well over ten years. Most of those years working with and in the company of every stylist who now calls Salon Santo Tomas home. Lee, working as a furniture designer at the time, through the influence and suggestions of a top Paul Mitchell platform artist, made a complete left turn and ended up in the middle of the beauty industry. After years in the salon, ongoing education, and the constant influence of working with some of Southern California’s top stylist, Lee has been able to create a name and a place for himself. Lee has made Color the cornerstone of his business.

Although known for his ability to create amazing Blondes, Ombre, Brunettes with caramel highlights and stunning Reds. Less known is his love of cutting short hair, not only for the creativity of short hair but, because of the need to perfectly balance the color placement with the cut. When not at work, he can be found creating something amazing on the grill or riding one of his motorcycles on a back county road. People ask, “Why hair”? It’s the creative process that never gets old, and the ability to affect change in the way someone sees themselves is instant and very rewarding.

Aysha Maitoza

Stylist

The stars aligned for me when I started doing hair. I literally fell in love with it all; from the variety of talent you get to learn from, and surround yourself with, to the impact you get to make on people daily. I love learning new things and staying on trend in the hair world. I am obsessed with giving clients the sunkissed/balayage/highlighted “natural but not natural” look. I also love revamping my clients lovely locks with new styles or shapes to accentuate their face shape or certain facial features. I’m originally from Northern Cali but loving the SoCal lifetsyle. I enjoy wakeboarding and any water activities, snowboarding and traveling to new places. Follow my hair journey and let’s do pretty things to your hair!! @hairbyayshalauren
